Amezcua is a PhD Student in the department of Sociology at The Ohio State University who specializes in heath disparities and religion. She earned her BA in Sociology, Asian Studies and Religion from Coe College. Her research interests focus on health, health institutions and systems, gender, and race/ethnicity. She is a research assistant for OPEN’s Understanding Reproductive Health Needs of Appalachian Communities project.
