Kistler is a Postdoctoral Fellow with OPEN and the Department of Sociology at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Kentucky, an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh, and a BA in Geography from Middlebury College. Dr. Kistler is a scholar of social inequalities and has worked on topics ranging from global poverty, environment, and democracy to violence victimization. With OPEN, she conducts research on the impact of abortion policy in the Ohio region on specific vulnerable patient populations.
