Reproductive Health in Ohio: The Ohio Survey of Women

The Ohio Survey of Women is an annual population-based survey of reproductive-age adult women in Ohio to understand their pregnancy intentions, current and past contraceptive use, and sources of reproductive health care supplies and services. This study monitors how key reproductive health indicators change over time in a context of fluctuating policies and legislation.

NORC at Chicago carried out the first wave in 2018-2019, and a second wave is being fielded in 2020. The overall goal of the Ohio Survey of Women is to evaluate the effects of health-related legislation, policy, and other administrative changes on contraception use in Ohio. By conducting the survey annually, we can track population-level changes as federal and state policy changes. Similar surveys are ongoing in other states.
