Bommaraju is a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, where they earned their MPH in health policy. Their research explores how social movements shape institutional change in reproductive health policy. Their dissertation is a 4-year ethnographic account of how social movements transformed the way that abortion care is paid for in the state of Illinois. Bommaraju is a sociologist of reproduction with a specialization in medical sociology, social movements, and the sociology of race and ethnicity. Bommaraju serves as a co-investigator to the OPEN project Administrators in Ohio’s Contraceptive Saftey Net.
