Turner is an Associate Professor at Ohio State University’s College of Public Health and College of Medicine. She earned her MSPH and PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an epidemiologist whose research examines the epidemiological, behavioral, and clinical correlates linking unprotected sex to adverse outcomes, including increased prevalence of unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. She has worked with vulnerable groups in a range of settings, including public and private clinical settings in the U.S. and community and clinical settings in rural and urban Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Madagascar. For OPEN, Turner leads the Training Core and contributes to two research projects: Experiences of People Seeking Abortion and Reproductive Health in Ohio: The Ohio Survey of Women.
