Kirkendall is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati. She earned her MA in community psychology from UC in 2021 focusing on pregnancy and birth experiences of refugees in the United States. She is currently working on her dissertation, which examines associations between state-level abortion policy and psychosocial factors such as anxiety, reproductive autonomy, and beliefs about gender roles. Kirkendall works as a Senior Research Associate with OPEN.
