Bijou is a PhD student in sociology at The Ohio State University specializing in social demography. She earned a master’s degree in sociology from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Christina’s research primarily focuses on racial disparities in health with an emphasis on social exclusion, reproductive health, and mental health. Christina also investigates within-group health disparities based on key social indicators such as nativity, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, rurality, and gender. Bijou was a research associate for OPEN’s Understanding Reproductive Health Needs of Appalachian Communities project.
