Piscalko is a doctoral student in epidemiology at The Ohio State University. She earned her BS in Public Health from The Ohio State University in 2017 and her MPH in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University in May 2020. For her master’s thesis, she investigated urban and rural trends of substance use in Ohio. Her research examines interventions addressing the relationships between gender, substance use (e.g. opioids and methamphetamine), and infectious diseases. Other research interests include community health, stigma, and harm reduction as it relates to people who engage in sex work and people who use drugs. She began working with OPEN as a research assistant in October of 2022.
