Gallo is an Associate Dean of Research Chair and Professor of Epidemiology at The Ohio State University. She earned her MSW, MSPH, and PhD at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Gallo’s research broadly focuses on sexual and reproductive health including abortion, contraception, and HIV/STIs. She has worked for almost two decades on the development and application of semen biomarkers to improve methods for assessing sexual risk. During her tenure at FHI 360, Ipas, CDC, and presently at OSU, she has conducted primary data collection in settings in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. For OPEN, Gallo leads the Ohio’s Changing Reproductive Health Care Context: A Statewide Survey and Perspectives of Patients and Care-Providers at Crisis Pregnancy Centers projects.
