Payal Chakraborty, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute

Chakraborty received her BS in Neuroscience and MS in Global Health from Duke University. Prior to starting the epidemiology doctoral program at The Ohio State University, she was involved in a variety of public health projects. Chakraborty’s current research interests lie in infectious diseases and reproductive health, and the application of epidemiologic findings to clinical and policy interventions. Her dissertation focuses on analyzing risk factors for syphilis using Ohio STD surveillance data. Chakraborty is a research assistant to OPEN’s Patterns in Abortion Use in Ohio and Surrounding States and Reproductive Health in Ohio: The Ohio Survey of Women projects.
